Update 2021-02-03 (2): According to further reports, most remaining restrictions in Thimphu were also lifted on Monday (01 February). Most businesses have been able to resume operations and freedom of movement has been restored. Cinemas, clubs and other entertainment facilities are still closed.
A negative test at a checkpoint is required for travel from Thimphu and Paru to some other parts of the country. After travelling from a high-risk area to another part of the country, a seven-day quarantine must be observed. High-risk areas are mainly located at the border. Gatherings are limited to 25 participants countrywide.
