2021-02-17: A countrywide strike of transport sector workers will take place in Mali on Wednesday (17 February). It is expected that some shop owners will also join the strike and close their shops. It cannot be ruled out that there will be local outbreaks of violence if strikers try to force other companies to stop working.
In case of a strike, major disruptions in the transport sector are to be expected. Delays and cancellations are likely. Before and after official strike hours, disruptions are also possible due to organisational reasons.
