Update 2021-05-16: According to the Foreign Office, entry must be registered via an online form. A separate entry form is required for entry into the autonomous province of Bolzano South Tyrol. A negative PCR or antigen test, which must not be older than 48 hours, must always be presented. Travellers without a negative test are obliged to isolate themselves for ten days and to take a test at the end. Border commuters are exempt from this requirement. There is still a state of health emergency. A night-time curfew from 10:00 p.m. to 05:00 a.m. (local time) applies throughout the country. Until further notice, entry to Sardinia for travellers who do not have their residence on the island is only possible with proof of valid professional or health reasons.
