Update 2021-07-15 (3): According to further reports, local Afghan leaders and the Taliban have reached and agreement on a ceasefire in the province of Badghis. The truce has already gone into effect and no end date has yet been specified.

Update 2021-07-15 (2): US authorities warn of a possible increase in violence around the Eid-ul-Qurban holiday. However, on Thursday (15 July), the Taliban offered a three-month halt to hostilities, it is not yet clear how the Afghan government will respond.
