Afghanistan, Armed Conflict / War, Level 4: Continued heavy fighting between Taliban and security forces in large parts of the country – Afghanistan [Update 29]

Update 2021-07-26 (2): According to further reports from Monday (26 July), Afghan security forces have retaken the district of Kaldar in the Balkh province. At least 20 Taliban fighters were killed and dozens were injured in the fighting. Additionally, at least 16 Taliban fighters were killed and 12 others were injured in air strikes near the provincial capital of Logar province, Pul-e-Alam.

Update 2021-07-26 (1): According to media reports on Monday (26 July), at least 89 Taliban have been killed in clashes with security forces since Sunday (25 July). At least 82 other militants are reported to have been injured. The fighting occurred in the provinces of Kunar, Kandahar, Herat, Farah, Faryab, Samangan, Helmand, Nimroz, Takhar, Kunduz and Kapisa.
