Turkey, Wildfire, Level 4: Forest fires in the south and centre of the country – Turkey [Update 7]

Update 2021-07-29 (6): Hotel evacuations also occurred in the city of Marmaris and numerous forest fires have still not been brought under control. So far, at least 3 people have been killed and hundreds were injured by the fires. The situation remains dangerous and can potentially change quickly and without warning. Travellers, especially in the provinces of Antalya, Mugla and Aydin, are urged by the Federal Foreign Office to exercise caution. 

Update 2021-07-29 (5): About one hundred tourists had to be evacuated from a hotel near the city of Bodrum in the province of Muğla due to an approaching forest fire.

Update 2021-07-29 (4): There were also evacuations in the city of Marmaris due to a fire.

Update 2021-07-29 (3): Other fires are burning in the provinces of Mersin, Osmaniye, Adana, Kahramanmaras, Mugla, Kirikkale and Kayseri. However, most of the fires are under control. There were local evacuations in Mersin. Another fire is currently spreading in the Kozan district of Adana province.

Update 2021-07-29 (2): According to further reports, at least three people have been killed and at least 122 people injured by the fires so far. At least 20 buildings were destroyed. Those trapped near Oymapinar Dam were rescued.

Update 2021-07-29 (1): According to recent reports, at least four fires are raging in the Manavgat district. The fire in Manavgat is still considered to be under control, but a fire also broke out in the neighbouring district of Akseki. At least one person was killed by the fires in the village of Kepezbeleni. At least ten people near Oymapinar Dam are trapped by the flames.
