2021-08-06: Six people on board an excursion plane were killed on Thursday (05 August) when the aircraft crashed northeast of Ketchikan. The de Havilland Beaver aircraft had taken off from Misty Fjords National Monument. The victims were tourists from the Holland America Line cruise ship Nieuw Amsterdam.
