Update 2021-08-12 (2): Due to the ongoing fighting in Afghanistan, the German Federal Foreign Office tightened its travel advice again. German citizens are urged to leave the country.
According to current reports, there is still some fighting in the city of Ghazni. Fighting is also reported in the vicinity of Mazar-i-Sharif, Kandahar and Lashkar Gah.

Update 2021-08-12 (1): On Thursday (12 August), it was announced that the Taliban had captured the city of Ghazni. The capital of the province of the same name is already the tenth of the country’s 34 provincial capitals to be captured by the Taliban.
