Update 2021-08-22 (3): According to British authorities, the restrictions in Ho Chi Minh City will initially apply until 06 September. Until further notice, a night-time curfew between 06:00 p.m. and 06:00 a.m. (local time) will apply in the city.
The lockdown in Danang will continue until at least Thursday (26 August). The lockdown in Nha Trang will remain in force until at least Wednesday (25 August). People are only allowed to leave the house if necessary.
Update 2021-08-22 (2): According to the German press agency dpa, the measures in Ho Chi Minh City will even remain in force until at least 15 September.
Update 2021-08-22 (1): Starting at 06:00 a.m. on Monday (23 August, local time), measures in Ho Chi Minh City will also be tightened until at least 06 September. Workers will only be allowed to move between their homes and workplaces along designated routes or will not be allowed to leave their workplaces during the period, contacts between households and across neighbourhood boundaries will be restricted. In areas with few or no COVID-19 infections, people will only be allowed to leave the house once a week for shopping. In other areas, food will be delivered by authorities.
