Update 2021-11-24: On Wednesday (24 November) the Italian government announced that starting from 06 December, a vaccination certificate or proof of recovery will be needed to gain access to many public areas. This will affect, for example, catering establishments and indoor events. For hotel accommodation and public transport, either a vaccination certificate, proof of recovery or a current negative test will be required for access.
