Update 2022-01-12: According to media reports, authorities on Monday (10 January) tightened COVID-19 restrictions in the Maldives, now requiring vaccinated individuals to present a negative PCR test result (no older than 72 hours ) through the ‘CovidSafe’ portal when travelling from the Greater Malé Region to other islands. If travellers are not vaccinated, prior approval must be obtained via the ‘Haalubelun’ portal and 14 days of quarantine are mandatory.
