Update 2022-01-18: According to recent media reports on Tuesday (18 January), the Japanese government plans to impose a quasi state of emergency on 13 prefectures (including Tokyo) from 21 January to 13 February. Restrictions are expected mainly in the catering industry and for gatherings.
