Update 2022-01-19 (2): As announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday (19 January), most COVID-19 restrictions in England will be scrapped from 27 January. As of that day, the obligation to wear a face mask and the appeal to work from home will be revoked. Furthermore, proof of vaccination or a negative test result will no longer be mandatory to gain access to nightclubs or to take part in other mass events.
Update 2022-01-19 (1): According to media reports on Tuesday (18 January), COVID-19 restrictions introduced in Scotland before Christmas 2021 to curb the Omicron surge will be lifted as of Monday (24 January). Among other things, contacts will no longer have to be limited to a maximum of three households when indoors.
