Update 2022-02-28 (2): According to the Kyiv city administration, the curfew will be in effect from 10 pm to 7 am on Monday (28 February). Outside this time, people should only leave their homes in case of emergency or for essential errands. Fighting continued in practically all districts of the city.
Meanwhile, in the breakaway Donetsk region, mobilisation has been suspended. The separatists said that the required number of areas had been occupied by now.

Update 2022-02-28 (1): According to media reports, Russian forces continued their offensive on the Ukrainian capital Kiev early on Monday morning (28 February, local time), after troop movements had been briefly halted during the night. Explosions then occurred again in the morning. According to information that cannot be independently verified, there had also been further unsuccessful attempts by the Russian army to advance into the city centre in Kharkiv. The city of Berdiansk (west of Mariupol on the Black Sea), however, had been taken by Russian troops. Meanwhile, more Russian units are advancing from the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson towards Mykolaiv. According to the latest reports, a residential building in the city of Chernihiv, not far from the border with Belarus, was hit by a missile.
