Update 2022-05-16 (2): Russian shelling killed at least ten civilians in Zyverodonetsk. At least nine civilians were killed in the Donetsk region. In addition, Ukrainian defenders largely stopped Russian attack attempts in the east of the country and destroyed several ammunition depots in Isyum. Advances at Sjewjerodonezk, Lyman, Bachmut, Kurachowe and Awdijiwka were reportedly repulsed. North of Kharkiv, Russian troops had gone over to the defence. Meanwhile, Mariupol continued to be heavily shelled.
Update 2022-05-16 (1): According to the Ukrainian military on Monday (16 May), a Russian missile attack near Odessa destroyed a tourist accommodation. Several civilians were injured and a fire had broken out.
