Reportedly, the barriers were set up in the area due to a protest that escalated into a clash between security officials and demonstrators.
2022-08-28: According to the source, at least 14 police officials were injured on Saturday (27 August) after the former were involved in a clash with the protesters who were staging a demonstration near the president’s residence in Buenos Aires to protest against the prosecutors who imposed sanctions against the Argentine Vice President on alleged charges of corruption. Tear gas and batons were also used on the protesters. At least four agitators were detained in this connection.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
