2022-09-22: According to the sources the climate protection movement “Fridays For Future” has called for a nationwide climate strike in Germany including Berlin on Friday (23 September) around 12 pm (local time). Around 8000 participants registered for the protest in Berlin.
Heightened security measures as well as disruptions to traffic and public life are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
