2022-09-27: According to the sources, a train strike has been scheduled by the Great Western Railway (GWR) workers on Saturday (1 October), GWR staffs will join workers walking out across the nation over the pay, which has been frozen from past three years. Reportedly, train services from Bristol Temple Meads are likely to face severe disruption. Only limited service will be provided between 7:30 am (local time) to 6:30 pm (local time). Further, GWR will only operate on these routes: between Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington, Reading and Didcot and Reading and Basingstoke.The strikes are also planned for Wednesday (5 October) and 8 October.
In case of a strike, major traffic disruptions are to be expected. Delays and cancellations are likely. Before and after official strike hours, disruptions are also possible due to organisational reasons.
