Update 2022-12-28 (2): On Wednesday evening (28 December, local time), renewed drone attacks were carried out by Russia in various areas in the south and east of the country, according to Ukrainian sources. Attacks were reported from the regions of Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv, among others. Several Russian drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
Update 2022-12-28 (1): According to reports, the city of Kherson was hit by approximately 33 missiles and artillery over the 24-hour period leading up to Wednesday morning (28 December, local time). It has been reported that the strikes targetted civilian infrastructure. Further mortar and artillery strikes were carried out in areas along the right bank of the Dnipro River under Ukraninian control. Reportedly, fighting has continued around Bakhmut, Swatowe, and Kreminna, and additional Russian forces, tanks, and armoured vehicles have been moved closer to the fighting. According to reports from Wednesday (28 December), over 700 pieces of critical infrastructure have been destroyed throughout the country since the beginning of the war. This includes gas pipelines, bridges, electricity stations etc.
