Update 2023-01-16: Travellers in or heading to France should bear in mind that a countrywide general strike and protest will take place on Thursday (19 January) in response to the government’s announcement that they plan to raise the age of retirement from 62 to 64 and institute pension reforms. This strike will impact air travel, as air traffic control staff will strike from Wednesday night until Friday morning (18 to 20 January, local time) and Air France cabin crews will strike as well. Strike actions are also expected from unions in the following sectors: energy, health, finance, logistics, the public sector, railways, public transport, and refineries.
