2023-08-15: Typhoon Lan developed over Pacific Ocean, which is forecast to hit the coastal areas of Sakhalin and affect the southeastern regions, Russia on Thursday (17 August). Heavy rainfalls are to be expected beforehand, which may cause floods, flash floods and landslides. Due to high winds, storm damage is possible in the areas directly affected by the tropical storm.
(Air-)Traffic disruptions are to be expected. Travellers are advised to exercise elevated caution near mountainsides and rivers.
