Update 2023-10-16 (3): According to reports, Israeli authorities announced on Monday (16 October) that they would be creating over 300 new units staffed by around 13,200 armed civilian volunteers to act as response groups in cities countrywide. As of Monday (16 October), over 1,400 had been killed during the violence in Israel, including around 150 foreign nationals. Several Uzbek citizens were among the casualties. LOT Polish Airlines has suspended all flights to and from Tel Aviv until at least 31 October.
Update 2023-10-16 (2): According to media reports, the Al-Qassam Brigades fired several rockets at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport on Monday (16 October). Meanwhile, evacuations of foreign nationals continue at full speed: according to reports, about 3,000 Germans have been taken out of the country so far, and a US ship has also left Israel for Cyprus.
Update 2023-10-16 (1): According to reports, the number of hostages taken from Israel to Gaza rose to almost 200 on Monday (16 October). Over 290 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the start of the violence as well. On Monday (16 October), at least one person was injured in a rocket attack in southern Israel near the border with Gaza. Rocket attacks were also reported in Ashdod and neighbouring areas.
