Update 2024-01-02: According to reports, Israeli forces carried out attacks against a number of targets in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday (2 January), including the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, Khan Yunis, Deir al-Balah, and the Nueseirat refugee camp. Multiple civilians were injured and killed in the attacks. Extensive property damage was also reported. Israeli forces also allegedly took control of a Hamas stronghold in Gaza City on Tuesday (2 January). Israeli forces claim to have taken control of dozens of buildings and destroyed several tunnels. Israeli forces also exchanged fire with militants in the tunnels, leading to several Hamas militants being killed. Several Israeli soldiers were also killed.
