2024-01-21: The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL and other unions have scheduled a two-day strike starting from 1 February at around 12:01 am (local time) to 2 February 11:59 pm (local time). Reportedly, the strike is expected to impact nearly all major Finnish airports, with the exceptions of Halli and Utti Airports.
Heightened security measures as well as disruptions to traffic and public life are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
