Update 2024-01-22 (2): According to reports, Israeli forces claim to have eliminated several armed militant groups in the central Gaza Strip on Monday (22 January). Clashes between militants and Israeli forces were also reported in the northern Gaza Strip. A number of militants were killed during the clashes and airstrikes. A military compound was also targeted in the air strikes. Dozens of residential buildings in a Khan Yunis neighbourhood were destroyed in air strikes on Monday (22 January) as well. Mines were also used to demolish buildings. Dozens of civilians are also believed to have been killed. The death toll in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the conflict has now surpassed 25,000.
