2024-02-22: At least one person was killed on Wednesday (21 February) at around 7 am (local time) following a violent clash between elements of the National Guard and armed civilians during a security operation around Brigada Norte and Brígida Central streets in the El Tapatío neighbourhood of Tlaquepaque in Jalisco State. Reportedly, multiple people were arrested by the security officials, while arms, vehicles, and other equipment were also recovered following the incident. The search operation remains ongoing.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible.
