Update 2024-03-14 (2): According to reports on Thursday (14 March), a critical infrastructure facility at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in south-eastern Ukraine was fired upon. According to the nuclear power plant management, an explosive device was dropped near the fence where the diesel tanks are located. Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have been informed. The information cannot be independently verified. Both warring parties have repeatedly accused each other of shelling the nuclear power plant site. Shortly after the start of the war, Russian troops took control of the power plant. According to Ukrainian reports, the Russian armed forces attacked Ukraine with drones on Thursday night (14 March, local time). In Kharkiv, the television infrastructure was hit and in the neighbouring Sumy region in the northeast, the infrastructure in four cities was attacked by Shahed drones. The Ukrainian military stated that it had shot down dozens of drones – including in Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk.
