The publication was later denied by the news agency. The German airline Lufthansa had already suspended flights to Tehran due to the security situation. Following an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus, the Iranian government announced retaliatory strikes against Israel and Israeli embassies worldwide.
