2025-02-04: Several protestors were injured on Monday afternoon (3 February, local time) following violence during a strike on the Huancavelica-Santa Inés-Rumichaca highway in Huancavelica city in the Southern Sierra Region, which connects with Junín and Ayacucho. Reportedly, the security officials used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible.
