India will develop its first offshore airport on an artificial island near the upcoming Vadhvan seaport. Modelled after Hong Kong and Osaka’s offshore airports, this project marks a major step in India’s aviation expansion. Located 125 km from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, this will be Mumbai’s third aviation hub.
