Update 2025-03-09 (2): According to sources from Sunday (9 March), ex-tropical cyclone Alfred moved inland overnight (local time) after crossing Bribie Island, bringing heavy rainfall across south-east Queensland. Flash floods have been reported in Hervey Bay and parts of Brisbane. An emergency major flood alert has been issued on Sunday evening (9 March, local time) for several areas in the City of Gold Coast, including Currumbin, Currumbin Valley, Tallebudgera, Tallebudgera Valley, and Elanora. A major flood warning has been issued for Grafton. Major flooding has also been reported along the Richmond River at Coraki and Bungawalbyn. Brisbane city and the Gold Coast have been reported inundated. In addition, thousands of homes remain without power as of 10:30 pm (local time) across Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and the Gold Coast.

Heavy rainfall is expected in Brisbane, northern New South Wales, and Gold Coast, Queensland. Thousands of houses in South East Queensland and northern New South Wales are without power. Also, New South Wales faces significant flood risks as Wilsons River may exceed a certain level.
