Spain, Severe Weather, Level 3: Severe rainfall and thunderstorms in southern Spain – Spain [Update 3]

Update 2025-03-18 (3): Andalusia is facing continuous rainfall and severe weather, with Storm Laurence bringing intense rain until Tuesday (18 March). Heavy rain, strong winds, and river overflows are expected on Thursday (20 March). A brief respite is forecast for Wednesday (19 March), but rain will likely continue until (25 March).

Update 2025-03-18 (2): The first casualties from the effects of the storm have been reported from the province of Seville. At least one person has died, while another person is still missing. One person is also still missing in the province of Córdoba.

Update 2025-03-18 (1): Severe flooding and significant damage were reported on Monday (17 March) following Storm Laurence in Andalusia. Reportedly, dozens of people were evacuated across several areas, including the municipalities of Sanlúcar la Mayor, Arahal, Belmez, and Huelva. In addition, rapid flooding of the Guadiamar River was reported in the municipality of Sanlúcar la Mayor, Seville Province. Rail services between Seville and Málaga, as well as between Seville and Huelva, were disrupted due to water accumulation on tracks, particularly in Arahal, Niebla, and San Juan del Puerto.
