Security forces reportedly used tear gas to disperse the protesters. Additionally, public transport unions were reportedly awaiting a decision to extend the ongoing strike for the next 24 hours on Friday (11 April), affecting Lima, Callao, and routes in Chosica, Huaycán, and Ate Vitarte.
Update 2025-04-10 (3): Clashes were reported on Thursday (10 April) between protesters and security forces on Puente Balta in Cercado de Lima neighbourhood of Lima, after security forces allegedly blocked the protesters crossing the bridge to reach the Congreso de la República. Additional clashes were also reported while the protesters tried to enter the city via Jr. Áncash.
Update 2025-04-10 (2): According to sources from Thursday (10 April), clashes were reported between protesters and security forces on the Panamericana Norte near Óvalo Habich in Lima, after security forces allegedly blocked the protesters’ vehicles during a mobilization toward the Congreso de la República.
