Update 2022-08-23: The situation on Hainan has not yet eased significantly: The lockdowns in the cities of Chengmai and Dongfang have been extended until at least Thursday (25 August). Meanwhile, Chinese authorities have converted 50 hotels in Sanya into isolation centres (see link from the Chinese embassy). Other areas with current lockdowns are Jinzhong (Shanxi) as well as Nanchong and Pingyao district (Sichuan). The situation also remains tense in Tibet and Xinjiang.
