2022-11-07: For Thursday (10 November), the PSA and SAFTU unions announced a general strike of all public sector employees nationwide. Affected by the strike are the passenger control for entry and exit at all international airports of the country and other public institutions.
Heightened security measures as well as disruptions to traffic and public life are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
