2023-10-26: At least one security official was wounded on Thursday (26 October) at around 8 pm (local time) in an attack by Pakistani security personnel targeting a Border Security Forces (BSF) post in the Aenia area of Ranbir Singh Pora, Jammu and Kashmir State, resulting in a breach of the ceasefire along the International Border. In response, Indian security forces also returned fire, causing local residents to evacuate their homes.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Ongoing armed clashes are to be expected. Travellers are advised to exercise high caution, to strictly avoid operations of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
