Update 2023-11-07 (2): According to sources from Tuesday (7 November), a demonstration has been reported at around 7 pm (local time) in the capital city Madrid. Reportedly, the demonstration is going on for the second consecutive day and is against the pacts between the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) and Catalan separatists. As per reports, the demonstration convened at Parque del Oeste and at around 8 pm (local time) progressed towards the PSOE’s national headquarters on Ferraz Street, and eventually headed to the Congress of Deputies of Spain. Moreover, the security officials cordoned off the area and restricted access to the PSOE headquarters to ensure security, with roadblocks established on Ferraz Street, Buen-Suceso Church, and Calle del Marqués de Urquijo to prevent further access to the site. Additionally, the People’s Party of the Community of Madrid (PP) has scheduled a demonstration on Sunday (12 November) at Puerta del Sol in Madrid.
Update 2023-11-07 (1): A first demonstration against the planned amnesty for Catalan separatists took place in Madrid on Monday (6 November). There were clashes with security forces at the event and several people were arrested. A further demonstration is planned for Tuesday evening (7 November, local time).
