Update 2023-12-06: According to the sources from Wednesday (6 December), heavy artillery shelling and attacks between regime forces and the Arakan Army (AA) in nearby villages prompted many people to flee the village of Sittwe in Rakhine State. Clashes are also being reported from Pauktaw in Sittwe District. Reportedly, The Arakan Army based in Rakhine State, claims to have captured a significant Myanmar junta base at Traunaing, Paletwa Township, Chin State. However, The Arakan Army accuses the Junta forces of using chemical weapons and conducting repeated airstrikes, particularly in defense of the Hnonebuu base. Moreover, numerous junta casualties and a large cache of arms and ammunition were reported at the seized base, although specific details of Arakan Army casualties were not disclosed.
