2024-02-22: A countrywide public sector strike is taking place in Greece on Wednesday (28 February). Air traffic control employees are also taking part in the strike and it is expected that air traffic will have to be completely suspended.
Heightened security measures as well as disruptions to traffic and public life are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
