2024-04-23: Multiple members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) militant group were killed while several security officials were injured on Monday (22 April) at around 7:30 am (local time) following a clash between the militants and security officials at a village in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Bangsamoro Region. Reportedly, firearms were also recovered following the incident.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Travellers are advised to exercise high caution, and to follow instructions from security forces.
