Germany, Demonstration / Riot, Level 3: Violence during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Berlin – Germany

2024-06-23: Several security officials were injured on Saturday afternoon (22 June, local time) after riots broke out during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Berlin. The demonstration reportedly started at the Eberswalder Strasse subway station in Prenzlauer Berg. In addition, bottles and pyrotechnics were also thrown during the demonstration. Following this, security forces have taken dozens of people into custody.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
