Update 2024-06-25: According to the sources from Wednesday (26 June), Dozens of homes have been evacuated in Wairoa, North Island. A State of Emergency has been declared for the Wairoa township, while a power outage was also reported in the area. Furthermore, Heavy rain on the East Coast, has caused evacuations in Te Karaka in north-west of Gisborne. Moreover, evacuation orders have been also issued in the East Coast Region of North Island.

2024-06-26: According to the sources on Wednesday (26 June) severe weather led to evacuations in Tai Rāwhiti and Hawkes Bay, with heavy rain and strong winds causing significant disruptions. The water level in Waipaoa river has been significantly increasing. Additionally, a state of emergency has been declared in the Heretaunga ward of the Hastings district due to coastal inundation in Haumoana.
Traffic disruptions are to be expected, floods and landslides are possible. Travellers should exercise heightened caution, especially near rivers and mountainslopes, and follow instructions by authorities.
