Update 2024-07-17: The authorities will activate a major security perimeter for the Olympic and Paralympic Games from Thursday (18 July) to Friday (26 July) opening ceremony in Paris, Île-de-France Region, causing significant traffic disruptions. Reportedly, the event’s anti-terrorism order will limit access for motorized vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. The banks of the Seine will have restricted 24/7 access, with grey and red security perimeters activated. Pedestrian “Games Pass” holders, including residents, workers, and visitors with proof, can access the grey zone, while five crossing points will be available without passes. Metro stations in the grey zone will be closed, and bus lines diverted. On July 26, vehicle access will be prohibited in both zones from 1 pm (local time), with pedestrian access allowed for spectators with tickets and pass holders.
