Update 2025-01-27 (2): On Monday (27 January), the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces took rule of Bhamo Airport, cutting off a critical supply route for the military. The takeover follows intense fighting, with the military conducting airstrikes on Bhamo.

Update 2025-01-27 (1): On Saturday (25 January) there was an attack by the Burmese army on bases of the Kachin Independence Army in Laiza (Kachin).
