Update 2021-04-20 (9): Weekend curfews remain in force in Chandigarh city. Night-time curfew on other days starts as early as 08:00 p.m. (local time) and continues till 05:00 a.m. (local time). A one-day lockdown is in force on Wednesday (21 April).
Update 2021-04-20 (8): There will be a complete lockdown in Puducherry from Friday (23 April) at 10:00 p.m. (local time) until at least Monday (26 April) at 05:00 a.m. (local time). Shops will have to close at 02:00 p.m. (local time) on other days as well.
Update 2021-04-20 (7): The state of Karnataka introduced weekend lockdowns until at least 04 May. These start at 09:00 p.m. on Fridays and end at 06:00 a.m. on Mondays (local time). The night-time curfew on other days also applies between 09:00 p.m. and 06:00 a.m. (local time). In addition, shops have to close and small supermarkets are only allowed to open between 06:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. (local time).
Muzaffarpur district also announced weekend lockdowns from Friday to Sunday. Only food markets are allowed to stay open on weekends.

Update 2021-04-20 (5): A lockdown will be in effect in Jharkhand from 06:00 a.m. (local time) on Thursday (22 April) until at least 06:00 p.m. (local time) on 29 April. All non-essential shops will have to close.
Update 2021-04-20 (4): A one-day lockdown is in effect in Ram Navami and Mohali cities on Wednesday (21 April).
Update 2021-04-20 (3): A curfew is in force in Rajasthan from Thursday (22 April) until at least 21 May. There are exceptions for essential shopping and going to work. Already on Monday (19 April) many shops had to close. This applies until at least 03 May.
Update 2021-04-20 (2): On Tuesday (20.04.), the Federal Foreign Office warns of the overwhelming strain on the Indian health system. German citizens still in the country are advised to return to Germany.
Update 2021-04-20 (1): According to media reports from Tuesday (20 April), Uttar Pradesh has announced a weekend lockdown for the whole state. Additionally, there will be a curfew from 08:00 p.m. to 07:00 a.m. (local time) in all cities with more than 500 daily COVID-19 cases.
