Update 2022-03-20 (2): Three people were injured in a Russian air strike on Ukraine’s western Zhytomyr region on Sunday (20 March). Thirteen buildings were damaged in the attack, which targeted the Korostensky district north of the region’s main city Zhytomyr.
Update 2022-03-20 (1): As a result of the ongoing heavy fighting, electricity, water, gas and health services have collapsed in Chernihiv. According to the city’s mayor, the Russian army continues to shell residential areas with artillery. Near Kiev, there is fighting in the localities of Butscha, Hostomel and Worsel. Shelling of the suburbs of Sumy also continues, according to military reports. Other attacks took place in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Mariupol and Delyatyn. According to unconfirmed reports, rail traffic between Belarus and Ukraine was suspended on Saturday (19 March).
